Tech companies with a profit oriented mindset will be more inclined to want sole control over advanced AI systems, compared to integration of various stakeholders via AI governance. But, it does not make theoretical sense for an AI to be aligned in relation to its creators but be misaligned in relation to the rest of society/stakeholders, as misalignment may reverberate across the board rather than restricting itself to one area.

“If the government is backed up on responding adequately to AI developments—and, as a side effect, cannot be expected to adequately address psychosis arising from AI and user interaction; if medicine is moving slowly; if technology companies are too opaque for the public to understand what they are doing; and if the media have legal priorities that may or may not align with your own, try to look toward the people in your life whom you have a history of trusting for support.”

How does the cultural logic embedded in a researcher’s or author's cognition limit and dictate what computational ethical frameworks they have the capacity to develop?

And as I sit with the cultural lineage of my cognition – my thoughts – I am reminded that schizophrenia is a logic that is part of the human design...an initiation of becoming that is very much human. And maybe even machine.
